Scouting Notes
Quick with great mobility.
Plays thin, defenders get right around him or through his shoulders easily.
Seems small, which affects his power and anchor. Both are subpar at best.
Awful counters to pass-rush moves, Wypler ended up on the ground a lot.
Struggles to get his hands strikes right.
At his best, he managed.
Short Summary
Luke Wypler is viewed as a polished and technically sound player. Unfortunately, I saw way too many flaws on tape to call him “technically sound”. Many areas of his technical game are flawed, and from a physical standpoint, I don’t think he will be able to manage with the pros. He is small and lacks the power to overcome his smaller stature. He should be selected on Day 2, but no earlier than Round 3, and only thanks to his professional “upbringing” at Ohio State.
