as always with picks, perspective matters

Obviously Kupp is far and away #1 among Rams draft picks since McVay arrived.

But they've had their fair share when you also account for where the players were selected.

John Johnson? Excellent pick... Joseph-Day at #195 in 2018? Gaines at #134 and Nick Scott at 243 in 2019? Jones at #103 in 2021? All also excellent picks.

And to me Josh Reynolds (117th overall in 2017), David Edwards as a 5th rounder in 2019 and Skowronek in the 7th were good value picks. No complaints about Van Jefferson or Jordan Fuller.

Even Ebukam was not a bad LB for where he was taken in 2017. Rapp didn't quite live up to hopes (especially after a good rookie year) but as the 61st pick in 2019 he was not a bust. He was at least a good piece of the 2021 defense.

Noteboom and Allen? Disappointing... Akers? Still TBD in year 4 in my opinion.

We'll see how the 2022 class shakes out. All 8 of those picks have potential to contribute this year and in some cases (Durant, Lake, Yeast) maybe start.
