IMO he was not very good and I would utilize another adjective like atrocious or horrendous, but I want to give the young man the benefit of the doubt. Shaun Jolly would be a much better option then Kendrick and I hope they bring back Grant Haley because he was much better too.
Cause would be that the Rams for some inexplicable reason played a guy with zero wheels outside the hash in their scheme.
Effect would be that he of course struggled in all that space.
Fans responses are clear at that point. He's garbage. He cannot cover.
But what happens if they play him in the slot this year,
where he should have been in the first place. Well, now you might have a guy who can at least execute the scheme in his position. Which is a far cry different from where he was last season.
So I am still hopeful that Kendrick's strengths, which are his hand use, positioning, and instincts, might play in proper scheme usage in the slot. Which means Durant is outside the hash and we need another corner in this draft.
That said if Durant has to play in the slot then Kendrick will be depth. But I don't see Durant as limited to the slot. He is feisty and competitive and is going to be just fine outside the hash.
