TEs take 2 years to get up top speed "usually" ... the reason I wouldn't have drafted him that high is that Boston College's offense was kind of inept, so I knew he needed time to develop and get up to speed.
Good news is that he's had two years to work on his craft behind guys that knew what they were doing. Durham Smythe is a seriously underrated depth player.
So hopefully he can hit the ground running and make Hopkins irrelevant. I'm looking at TE in the 5th for us ... I have 4 options and one should make it, at least ... most of those guys will need a year, but the hope is that in 2024 we have two plus level starters that are both legit threats to run over or by you after we let Higbee walk (He should retire, he's had a good run).
