Hopkins is a pending FA after the season so even if they were to get him going finally he'd depart in the offseason. Long meanwhile has another year of team control and also is more of an all-around type than Hopkins. So he'll probably beat him out on the depth chart this year as well and send him packing.
My guess is the Rams draft a TE too, and maybe pretty high. So it'll be:

Long
Rookie
If Hopkins played teams I'd say he'd still stick around but the guy doesn't move the needle even on teams so the writing's on the wall on that one.
I am still mesmerized that McVAy does not show more confidene in Hopkins. Without him we do not win the SB. He made several crucial plays late in the game when forced into action. None bigger than the block to spring Kupp on 4th down.
