Not so fast, Classical. Let’s think about this for a minute.
These issues are nuanced.
Ramsey in 2023 is no longer the 2019 version. While no Ramsey equivalent will be there for Rams on Day 2, it is also true that quality starters at outside CB will be there and Rams would be well advised to take one. This is a good CB draft.
About Floyd. 53 is right in that Floyd is replaceable on Day 2 in a good edge draft. The rookie won’t have the experience at first, but he, too, will benefit from the AD Effect just as Fowler and Floyd did before him.
Besides, I think both Ramsey and Floyd were simply not performing up to their respective massive contracts, so what choice did Rams have, really?
As a possible bonus, I expect Snead to do at least one modest trade down from 36 which should net an extra 3rd or 4th, depending.
If it gives you any peace of mind, Alyo has stated that starter quality players will be sitting there through the 6th round at certain positions in this deep draft. It’s up to Snead to take advantage of that fortunate situation.
As an aside, I halfway expect Snead to draft an outstanding kicker and punter late on Day 3. Would be huge value.
All is not lost just yet, although this ‘23 roster is gonna be VERY young and will need all the patience we can muster. Lol.
