First of all, I think Matt Ryan is done. He has no future anymore as a starter.
Secondly, I seriously doubt whether he would even want the Ram backup job after his career as a starter.
Thirdly, he’s guaranteed $12M to sit on the sofa this year.
So I’ll repeat myself. What, exactly, is the motivation for Ryan to move and be a mere backup this year for Rams?
My reply was that the "motivation" was to get paid to hold a clipboard and get paid $12 mil to do it while reaping the all benefits that come with working with McVay.
If he is "done" being a "starter" as you say, his only options will be QB2, correct? What do you think he would want to do? Just sit home and collect $12 mil to be out of the "limelight" for a whole year or be a QB2 AND still get paid that $12 Mil while maintaining visibility in the league and maybe even getting a chance to start a few games for the best offensive minded HC in the business?
I haven't hear him say he wants to retire so I assume he still thinks he can play.
IMO, "if" he still would want to play beyond this year, and I bet he does, his BEST option to get another gig is to sign on with the coach who has gotten more coaches and players promotions and paydays than McVay.
The "word" on the street is that McVay wants to be offensive team again. There would be no better place to be a "QB2" than with the Rams IMO. McVay would have the best chance for him to get another shot if he wants it.
That's pretty good "motivation" in my eyes 43.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
