I just don't think the concept of trading a lot of draft capital for a player that you all have to also give a new top 5 contract should be done except for really short term goals and very rarely....a gaping hole at a key position and/or thinking you have one year to make a run (see the Eagles with AJ Brown and Chiefs with Orlando Brown but neither with multiple firsts). That is double whammy of asset use. We did it twice in a span of 3 years to the extreme, on top of giving out two other massive contracts in Donald and Kupp, and now the bottom half of the roster is maybe the worst in the league with very limited cap space or draft capital. The one move that I really harp on is spending that much for Ramsey (2 1sts and a 4th) versus what the Eagles paid for Slay around the same time (3rd, 5th). I honestly think the Ramsey trade was more around making a splash for attention with the new stadium opening that any other reason.
