HE LAID OUT!!! He was hauling A to catch up....almost did. And then he lays out in full throttle. Watch when he hits the ground, he slides several yards. Dang! That play hurts! But the effort and heart of that team was freaking amazing.
I ask you guys to watch clips of that play and ask yourself when was the last time you saw a DB do what Perry did on that play. THESE DAYS, a DB would run half a** and be gesturing at Eddie Brown instead of trying to cover ground.
Good Lord those guys gave it their ALL! Put their bodies on the line EVERY play! H3ll, I even hear of one dude who played multiple games with a broken friggin leg!!!
What great aggressive defenses we had back then from the Fearsome Foursome on into the late '70s! It was sooo fun to watch!
Unlike today's defense where we play a glorified Prevent Defense 95% of the time, against every team, regardless of their personnel or match ups.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
