Ramboni
George Allen was the coach when I became a Rams fan and he was very defensive minded. In fact one of his quotes remain with me to this day: "If you can keep the other team from scoring, you'll never lose." Give me that D that will always keep you in the game no matter what. The Ravens in 2000 were that kind of team with Trent Dilfer at QB. Four sacks, four picks and a complete shut down.
Nice post Ramboni!
However, just mentioning the 2000 Ravens in the same subject as our defensive scheme is insulting to the 2000 Ravens. lol
I like an aggressive, creative defense that other teams HAVE to game plan for and might even be a bit "intimidated" too! I grew up watching the fearsome foursome in it's final years and we had sooo many good aggressive defense's that teams hated to play against!
I want a DC that can come up with "team specific" game plans instead of running a glorified Prevent defense 95% of the time that allow teams to know exactly what they have to do "pre-snap". If Morris can be that DC...great. No more 10 yard cushions on 3 and 4!
IMO, we make it TOO easy on some teams to move the ball at will.
Gimme that type of defense over the our Charmin Shell every day of the weak and twice on Sundays!!! We ran the softest defense in the NFL last year. We ran more ultra soft zone than any other team in the NFL. I sure hope that changes this year. In fact, I would be ok if we run that ultra soft shell 4x less!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
