There is a cap savings if Ramsey gets traded ($5.6M in cap relief if they trade Ramsey before June 1) so that's probably a factor.

But, the Rams could get $12M in cap space just be restructuring his contract.

His salary for 2023 is $17M. If they restructured his deal and converted $15M of that to a signing bonus they could spread that cap hit over 5 seasons (adding a couple void years in the process). This option would let the Rams keep Ramsey and create $12M in cap space in 2023.
