What he gets criticized for is a build up of what he's done all that time in Detroit.
McVay's offense is different.. it actually creates separation for the receiver without needing the receiver to separate on their own.
So from my eyes, since coming to the Rams, he's less gunslinging. Doesn't mean he isn't.. just that he is doing it less.
And if I'm McVay.. I'm sure I would tell him.. trust the play call and the guy will be open. Throw it to the open receiver.
Burrows on the other hand is playing in a offense that is looking for certain matchups.
If he sees Chase on press coverage in Cover 1.. he's going to back shoulder Chase or throw it deep to him. Just depends where that safety is.
Stafford in McVay's system.. less so.. that's the difference.
