The thing about Allen is he had one decent year, our Super Bowl year, and all seems to be forgiven.
He wasn't particularly good in 2019 during the 9 games he started. That's why so many of us were calling for us to draft OC's.
Last year is the player he tends to be: average and injured. I think it's folly to think that the magic of 2021 will strike twice.
It's time to move on, even if it's with Shelton.
2019 was his first season as a starter though. Essentially a rookie. It's not unusual for linemen to stumble early on. As for him being average, I think you're right. But I think it's virtually impossible to have pro bowlers at every level and center is the position that's least important imo. Or maybe it's guard. But you see what I'm saying. If Allen is the worst player on the line then I think we're okay. But I wouldn't put a ton of faith in it.
