Brock was so ineffective and was also coming off a horrendous game against Dallas as the Rams rode Dickerson in that game like a ten cent pony. Brock was missing the slant patterns to Brown, that if the Rams hit them, the game would have been different. In the 2nd half, I would have gone Kemp was saying it back then because of his ability to move and maybe Kemp would have been able to hit those slants adding a little juice to the team. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 and I will always wish that the Rams could have added Warren Moon in 1984 as they were in the running for him, but Houston hired his coach in Canada Hugh Campbell, who they fired after just two years, but that was enough for Moon to choose the Oilers over the Rams. Too bad.
That Ram defense was very special back then and although not highly touted, they were lights out too. Again, it always seemed the Rams just always came up a tad short back in the 70's & 80's.
