Yes, Marino had a quick release but their plan was QUICK routes and Marino throwing to a spot. The Bears had no answer. I tell ya...Look at the box scores of the Bears vs....of ALL teams....TAMPA, in 1985. They did the same plan as Miami....ALMOST. They gave the Bears fits.
Brock killed me that day along with the play calls. Slooooow developing patterns and Brock holding the ball TOO long killed us. Besides, with that wind whipping, we should have kept everything to 3-10 yards.
We saw a PRIME example of how to beat that Bears team just the next season. Watch that MNF game when, Dills / Rams wised up and just flung it high n long to Brown in less than 2 seconds. Robinson STILL insisted on making that a ED game. We got away with one that night.
