I mean you can't discount the threat Hurts legs bring to the defense but the examples of the adjustments were the Eagles running the ball via running back. My point remains if this is a obvious flaw in the defense the Eagles spotted and exploited within the first half of a game. We haven't done that in 10 games. Or is McVay looking for adjustments or is bound and determined to Frank Sinatra his match-ups with Kyle Shanny (Do it my way).
Sorry, bro, I strayed from your point a bit. It was great coaching that the Eagles won that game by recognizing what the 9ers were doing and modifying their offense to counter. You could see them on the sidelines commenting, and then they came out and countered. I only wish McVay had that gene, but we've seen him wiff against teams lessor than San Fran by sticking with failed game plans. I think it's his biggest fault, and I've been waiting for him to mature out of it. Recently, I think that's just wishful thinking on my part.
Now, I'm not an absolutionist. I'm sure someone will point out a game or three we won after making halftime adjustments (Carolina?). But other times, I feel we fall into the rut, and just keep digging in. The repetitive empty set madness that can overcome us drives me crazy. It's, at times, Martzian.
