Vermeil worked his team like Dawgs until the year they won the SB. But they were disciplined.
McVay took over for Fisher who built a disciplined, nasty team.
We are far removed from that nasty team and are left with the soft players we have today.
A mix match offense line can not show up on game day and be gelling.
This team needs a few pre-season games. Sure, Donald and Kupp can sit out. Stafford could come in for the 3rd game for a half. Like it has always been done.
No injuries were saved this year, it was the worst ever. So just take a little risk and let the guys get a few reps in before the first game.
There are so many new players and parts. Even new coaches. They need some practice together. Before it counts.
