I get that he does a lot of charity stuff, but he’s one weird dude.

None of us knows what's transpired behind the scenes between Chris and the Rams organization so I'm not gonna say his relationship is weird or anything else 'cause I have no idea what that's about. The one thing which MAY factor in to his weird connection to the organization is that he is one of the players whose time with the Rams was all spent in St Louis ... not in Los Angeles. Now that there's no team in St Louis, where is "home" exactly for them? It sure doesn't feel like it would be L.A. when they never played a down there, never lived there and never worked there. It's not St Louis anymore either when there isn't even a remnant anywhere in the city that the Rams were ever here. They USED to exist. They don't anymore. I can understand that some people feel the players' "connection" should be to the team no matter where the team is located, but you can't just transplant your experiences and your feelings from one city to another when they didn't occur there. If the city/location a team is located in isn't important, why do we always include it in marketing, sales, news, and general conversation when we talk about a team? Because an affiliation to that city is part of the connection, is it not??? It is for the fans. And it is for the players and the organization. You can't have it both ways. It can't be both important and unimportant. It has to feel odd to some former St Louis Rams, and frankly there can be a bit of a disconnect for them so any "weird" connections don't seem so weird to me. I get it. On the other hand, some former Rams players have totally embraced their new "home", but I'm betting not all have. Perhaps Chris Long is one of them. Just a thought.
