Philosophically he would have strengthened McVay

First he speaks WCO from a different tree but the terminology is what matters. No need to learn new lingo.

Second he has always balanced the run game well. Both him and Peterson who he worked for in Philly are very disciplined in keeping balance. Having an OC with that background and tendency would have been fantastic.

But unfortunately guys who can coach offense well are still prioritized in the HC jobs because you can't keep them on your staff otherwise if they're good.
