Apologies for the whiners site. I do think that if McVay wants to return to key offensive concepts that he learned he might try to return to people he knows who can teach that system. LaFleur , Taylor, McDaniels and Kyle Shanahan have all assembled excellent coaching staffs that have been able to install the west coast offense and the zone blocking run blocking schemes to their respective teams. Is Matt LaFleur that guy? He certainly has the experience watching others install and run it. The Jets seemingly are always the anomaly when it comes to coaches and players who have tremendous success up until they become a Jet.
I’d be surprised if burnout and needing to delegate more were in fact major issues for McVay that he doesn’t get a handful of experienced coaches from within the Mike Shanahan system .
