Not sure why McVay doesn’t just hire coaches and stop with the age discrimination thing. I’m joking a bit here, but look at all the playoff coaches: McCarthy has a former Super Bowl head coach calling his defense. Bengals DC has been around a couple of decades. Bills have a long serving DC. Vikings DC has been around forever and been everywhere. Shanahan’s own dad watches game tape of next week’s opponent and help draft a game plan and has QB coach that played Big 10 football, played in the pros, played for his dad and has been around the game ever since his playing days in the booth. Andy Reid has Spags—certainly can’t pass for a millennial.
And McVay had Phillips and Kromer and then ditched the old school guys for a bunch of beta millennials.
My goodness! Why make it so hard on yourself. All the other coaches that are in the playoffs have created a brain trust.
Raheem Morris—one of you good Ramily pointed this out—DC’d for five games before he became the Rams full time DC!! Sorry, but that’s not nearly the brain trust that other teams have.
I hope this stressed out season gave him the wisdom to know his intellectual limitations in trying to win this game at a high level. Do not shun experience.
