Ramsey doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract: he had to go wherever the Dolphins chose to send him.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteShecky Trading Higbee would save the Rams $6.7 million in cap room this year, but he’s such an integral part of the offense and locker room that it’s hard to imagine him being moved before the season. It's true that overthecap.com shows a $6.7M cap savings if the Rams trade Higbee , but they would have had to trade him before paying his $2M roster bonus to get that much cap relief. Trading Higbee now would save around $4.7M against this year's cap but personally I wouldn't do it. I like Ferguson's potential but right now Higbee seems like more of a sure thing and as things stand today Higs is still TE1. And if the Rams really want to run more 12 personnel this year then I'd rather see Higs/Ferguson than Ferguson and anyone else the Rams might trot out there. But whatby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The only thing that makes sense to me is that the Rams like the CBs they have better than Alexander. At that price I can't even make up another reason. The Rams know what they have at CB better than anyone. And they opted not to sign a FA CB (including Alexander), not to draft a CB, not to add a college FA after the draft, and not to trade for Ramsey. Collectively that says the Rams have aby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteI think he'll have a big year this year. A lot more sacks than last year. I think so, too, just based on stuff that's been posted on this board. It seems that Verse has done a lot of self-scouting of his rookie season and he thinks he would have had a bunch more sacks if he had played his position better. He also thinks he could have done a better job at setting the edge on run plays, soby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteOld Goat He holds the record for us because he's been here forever, knows the system and nobody else was ever trying to pry him away. That might explain why he holds the Rams' all time records in catches, yards, and TDs. But it doesn't explain why he is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in number of catches in a season.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Take a look at the Signing column under Prorated Bonus and you will see $22.7M cap hits for both '25 and '26. Those are cap hits the Rams are taking for signing bonuses the Rams paid Stafford in previous years as part of that $120M the Rams already paid Stafford. Included in those cap hits is the original $60M signing bonus he got in 2022. He got all $60M in 2022 (again, part of the $120M yoby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotekw13 After 2026 it doesn't appear there is any dead cap if we void the remaining. Stafford is currently under contract for the '25 and '26 season. If he plays out those 2 years under the terms of the current deal he will have cap hits of $47.5M in '25 and $48.3M in '26 and then the Rams will eat $33.6M in dead money in '27. There is some truth to what f79 says, but how much I really don't know. I found a site that took a shot at naming the best TE each team in the NFL has ever had. To be sure there are a lot of TEs better than Higbee on the list. But objectively, how many does he beat out? Arizona Cardinals: Jackie Smith Atlanta Falcons: Tony Gonzalez Baltimore Ravens: Mark Andrews Buffalo Billsby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Whatever anyone thinks of Higbee, statistically he is the best TE the Rams have ever had. He holds the Rams record for receptions by a TE with 72 catches in 2022. He also has second place (69 catches in 2019) and third place (61 catches in 2021). He is also the Rams' career record holder for a TE in receptions (353), yards (3,602) and touchdowns (22). Quote His Atwell handling, especially early on, remains an enigma, at least to me. No question in my mind that McVay has had a blind spot in regards to Atwell, but it doesn't seem like it was a "McVay hates rookies" kind of thing. I mean, it went on for 4 years. (He didn't get a target his rookie year which I will never understand, but he only got 25, 67, and 62 the next three years)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 There are exceptions, of course, where rookies just blow things up in camp and consequently get to start early. We all know their names. But there are many others who seem to be held back for no good reason. Considering that there are examples of rookies that do start early in their careers it begs the question: Why some and not others? You don't get a comp pick if you cut a player who then gets picked up on waivers or signs a FA contract elsewhere. Only if a player plays out his contract and then leaves. The thought is if you cut a guy and lose him it's your own fault since you could have kept him if you wanted to. Quote What if Stafford had been playing with more weapons, slingiong the ball around (as you say) to run up victories with a loaded offense and better-than-averrage offense design andplaycalling? Are you thinking the Rams are gonna pull the trigger and trade for Ramsey? That could happen if the Rams can get the right deal. But if that happens I think Forbes starts opposite him. I think it is. In fact, I would bet good money on it. And if so, Rodgers moves to 5th this year and Stafford passes him in 2026.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford has averaged 4,204 yards per season in the three relatively full season he has played with the Rams. He averaged 4,423 yards per season in the nine relatively full season he played with the Lions. My assumption before I checked was that the Lions would have been behind quite often while Stafford was there and that Stafford would be slinging the ball around trying to catch up ratherby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford averaged 3,863.5 yards the last two seasons and if he plays 2 more seasons I bet he averages more than that. But even at that rate that's another 7,727 yards added to his current 59,809 for a total of 67,536. That's comfortably in 5th and completely realistic since he only needs to average 2,140 yards a year to reach 5th.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm pretty sure what a player offers to the 2025 team will be a bigger factor in determining playing time than who's been plugging away longer. In 2023, for example, one could make the case that Skowronek, Van Jefferson, and Demarcus Robinson had paid their dues compared to Nacua. Yet Nacua ended up with 105 catches while those other 3 WRs got 8, 8, and 26 catches respectively. That said,by AlbaNY_Ram - Rams Chronicles

As the 16th pick in the first round of the 2023 draft I think being CB1 is a reasonable expectation. Just because Washington couldn't figure out how to develop the guy is no reason to downgrade his potential. You can't teach 4.35 speed and Forbes arrives with that in his hip picket. Here's my reading of the tea leaves. ESPN shows Williams and Witherspoon as the starting CBs. PFF ranks Williams as the 122nd CB in the NFL out of 222 qualifiers while Witherspoon ranks 108th I know PFF isn't gospel, but it is a metric that has to be considered.
