I think so, too, just based on stuff that's been posted on this board. It seems that Verse has done a lot of self-scouting of his rookie season and he thinks he would have had a bunch more sacks if he had played his position better. He also thinks he could have done a better job at setting the edge on run plays, so overall I think he sees room for improvement and he has the drive and work ethic to make a quantum leap this year. Scary thought considering how good he was last year.

I have also been thinking about how the Rams defense is going to work on passing downs this year, considering they've added Stewart and lost Hoecht. One of the scenarios I considered was maybe having Stewart on the edge and moving Verse inside to where Hoecht was playing last year on passing downs. If anybody can power rush inside, it has to be Verse.

Shula showed some creativity last year and I think he'll expand on that this year.
For example, he deployed a defensive front with Turner and Fiske (I think it was those two) at DE with their hand in the dirt and with Young, Hoecht, and Verse standing over the center and guards. From there they could conceivable run all sorts of stunts and I think we'll see the defense build on that alignment and use that (and more!) exotic fronts on game day. And having Stewart in the lineup instead of Hoecht potentially gives Shula more options, including the one you mentioned.
