Trading Higbee now would save around $4.7M against this year's cap but personally I wouldn't do it.
I like Ferguson's potential but right now Higbee seems like more of a sure thing and as things stand today Higs is still TE1. And if the Rams really want to run more 12 personnel this year then I'd rather see Higs/Ferguson than Ferguson and anyone else the Rams might trot out there.
But what if Ferguson passes Higs at some point this year? That would be great and it would really set the Rams up at TE for next year and beyond, but still for 12 personnel in 2025 I would want Ferguson/Higs over any other possibility by a long shot.
I guess if the Rams were strapped for cap space i could make a case, but they are $20.2M over right now. Do they really want to be $25M over the cap instead at the expense of losing Higs? I don't think so.
