as far and the area lending itself to exploring the area.... its easy. You can park anywhere alongside Hwy 41. NOT on Hwy 46. It is a VERY busy intersection, however, so sure.. caution is advised. LOT of accidents in that area... I have 'heard' it's one of the worst stretches of road for accidents in California... from there to Paso Robles that is.
