but I liked it, quite a bit. Very well made, IMHO... although I fully understand the reasons some of us didn't care for it.
I thought it was interesting the way the movie was made.... while agreeing with others in this thread that it didn't make for a 'story' per se. Here's how I would explain...
It's as if a movie was made in which the entire events depicted occurred in a foxhole during the Battle of the Bulge... BUT... the "Battle of the Bulge" is never mentioned.
Seemed to me they wanted the viewer to feel as if they were IN the evacuation at Dunkirk and not simply observing it. That's tough to do... I think they did well. - JamesJM
