I think it's because the focus is on the younger audience. My hearing is still impacted and it's been several days since I saw the movie. I don't think that's healthy no matter your age. The worst was the ringing of the bullets rattling around that metal hull of the beached boat. Maybe that's why I'm discouraged for movies that have so much special effects. I'm more and more focusing on chick flicks that lack special effects.
If you notice the elderly skipper of the boat that refused to turn around was the same actor in the Tom Hanks movie Bridges of Spies-he was the Russian spy.
