I've watched several YouTube videos about notifying, (for what it's worth I would notify whether required or not)... and most say reaching for your wallet, and your CCW, is not a good idea. That makes sense to me. Leave your hands on the steering wheel.
Agree, I ALWAYS check out of state laws if I'm going out of state.... but that is seldom.
Here's an 'odd' one for you. In Calif. the specific weapon you are carrying, (serial number), must be listed on your CCW. In Oregon, where my son is a resident, it does not. We traveled to Oregon a couple of weeks ago.... so in Ca. I was legal, (Oregon is like Ca. and does not recognize any other States CCW), but when we crossed the border we were still legal because now the weapon, not on my person, came under my son's Oregon CCW.
