Funny story about Paulina.. I had just gotten married and my wife and I were both members of a message board for an area in Mexico where we vacation.. There was a poster name Paulina that flirted with me a lot, but she didn't have any profile pics posted, so nobody knew what she looked like.. So, Tim, the guy I posted a pic of with me and Vinnie in this same thread, emailed me a HUGE pic of Paulina Porizkova naked on the beach.. the only text on the photo was "Paulina"..
So, my wife sees this pic and thinks its Paulina from the message board - because she doesn't know who Paulina Porizkova is.. She comes up to me all crying and mad saying she can't compete with this chick from the message board who's been flirting with me.. Took a while a lot of googling to calm her down.. Eventually Paulina from the message board posted a pic.. My wife definitely had nothing to worry about lol
That's pretty funny. But you must have been sweating up a storm until it worked itself out.
Have you ever seen Almost Famous? A favorite movie of mine. Supposed to be loosely based on stuff that really happened to Cameron Crowe when he worked for Rolling Stone magazine as a kid. Lotsa rock stars helped out with the film, and he was married to Nancy Wilson of Heart at the time, so he had the right people around him to make the movie authentic. If you haven't seen it, you should. I think you'd love it. Has quite a few of those "close calls" via girlfriends on the road, with the wife at home, etc. But it's much more than that.
In a way, Crowe kinda turned things upside down, when it comes to apparent external mismatches . . . and that "average looking rock star gets beautiful woman" thing. For him, it was kinda "average looking writer dude gets beautiful rock star."
