This from a story about his testimony: "He said he has no memory of what his accuser, a now 34-year-old Moorpark woman who lived at the home he was visiting that night, claims happened." [

During the investigation the accuser made a cold call to Rath that was recorded with her consent where Rath "... says he’s 99.99% sure it did not happen." (quoted from the same article)
That would be a pity if he did that, because according to Justice there is only a small percentage of false accusations when it comes to this kind of thing. Yet, only a small percentage of women bring cases like this forward, or even report them to the police, because there is a tendency to put the accuser on trial and act as if false accusations were normal. For some women in situations like this, it's "guilty whether proved innocent or not." That is one reason why it has taken years to finally nail some repeat offenders (referring to names big in the news, not Rath).
His in-court defense was that he was too messed up to intend it (and yes he did not recall it) but in-court, he did not deny doing anything.
This is important because it means at least he did not jump on the "put the victim on trial" kind of thing that (as I said) can show up in cases like this.
