... between Goff and the Rams.
I say this for several reasons:
1. Goff's 2nd half of the season certainly wasn't as good as the first half. Not all his fault, but I think Goff missed some key throws that were there for him. His last 2 playoff game were definitely sub par for him.
2. Me thinks McVay is always looking for ways to improve and QB is on the table as well. If something better, as in someone McVay thinks can adjust to his system better is there, then you just never know. Not saying Bortles is that guy, but the eye of Sauron is ever searching.
3. I think McVay is ready to take the O to an even higher level, with consistency throughout the year. Whether Goff can be that man to follow right along will be very evident this year.
I like Goff. Sure do. But will he satisfy what McVay expects? Geniuses can be querky.
Unless the Rams stink it up this year and Lawrence somehow comes out early, if Im the Rams, I extend Goff.
Its great to be on the lookout for a better QB but thats what most of the league is already doing, and has been doing for the last 5-10 years at least.
Goff can miss seeing a guy here and there (he's young), sure, but imo, you dont move on from a guy that can run your offense otherwise, over that.
Being ranked 22 behind some of those guys is on the next level of stupidity, Imo.
