Is that he's not the QB who excels the first time through in a situation. He's a builder in terms of his ability to overcome. He struggled his first year in college, then turned it around year 2. He struggled his rookie season in the NFL, then turned it around in year 2. He struggled in his first playoff game, then turned it around in year 2. And he struggled in his first Super Bowl, which is not really a surprise to myself at least, because the trend is there.
Also what is interesting to consider is what if the Chiefs had been our opponent in the Super Bowl? If they had, Goff would probably be a Champion with a lights-out game under his belt. And everyone would be lavishing praise on him when he's still got plenty of room to grow.
IMO anyone who is doubting him is out of their minds. After another camp & season or 2 he is going to be a super elite QB who can basically run an offense at the LOS. Not there yet, but he's getting close and we have a long stretch of years to enjoy ahead of us.
