We just have to wait and see what Goff does in his 3rd year with McVay.

He has demonstrated that as far as a pure passer he can do amazing things like the Vikings game. In that respect he is top tier.

Obviously, his major shortcoming is reading the entire field especially a zone. And that shortcoming is more pronounced in drop back QBs where they don't run or buy time with their feet.

When guys like Wilson got confused early in their career, and believe me he did, he bought time with his feet and created off-schedule plays. Goff doesn't have that ability. But he can make throws that Wilson can't make, he just needs to see the field better. The plays he made against the Saints were off-schedule but Goff was not confused by their D like Detroit, Chicago, and Pats confused him.

I see no reason why Goff won't get better at this if he works hard.

Compare him to other drop back QBs when they were 24. Not when they were 27.
