TE's and blocking that is. Seems to me, just a perception, that in the long history of the Ram's - - receiving TE's have been few and far in-between. We should be well versed in blocking TE's.
I'm speaking somewhat tongue in cheek, of course. Certainly we have had some very good receiving TE's.... and actually, again just a perception, seems to me truly great receiving TE's are rare in the NFL.
Recently the board debated LT's vs RT's... some noting that LT's are a rare commodity, (truly great ones that is)... I think that holds true for TE's as well... if judged by blocking AND receiving.
Now certainly I wish that Higbee or Everett would shine weekly like a Kellen Winslow, a Dave Casper... but even 'less' than that I have not noticed either 'failing'.
Think I read today that Goff has been sacked 'zero' times this year? Did I just fantasize that being true? If it is zero sacks, he's getting great protection and I don't see how you can come to any other conclusion than the TE's are helping achieve this.... and at the rate the Ram's are scoring.. is there good reason to come off the current plan? - JamesJM
