It may be, and probably is, nothing more than they simply valued Watkins to bolster the WR corps over CB depth.
The Bills needed and wanted a CB because they were trading Darby to the Eagles. That's what the Rams needed to give to get.
But you're on record that you like the CB depth right now. I'm on record saying it's thin. We'll start to find out soon enough.
