Sometimes the stars line up and every single desperate attempt in every position just works. It happens once in a blue moon, and NO one can predict it, a la 1999. Teams go from horrible to great, but not a single one was projected to be there, especially not with a woefully unproven QB, completely greenhorn HC (and youngest in the NFL), and new staff and system on both sides of the ball.
DOES it happen? Sure. Do I have enough information to PREDICT that it will happen? Not even close.
If the Rams beat 8 wins this year, I'll see them as having shot the moon and accomplished something beyond my wildest dreams. But I'm neither predicting nor expecting it. Neither Rome nor the Rams are (usually) built in a day.
