If the choices amount to:
A.) Use Austin as a wide out, slot receiver, RB, PR, and get 900 yards & 9 TDs out of him
B.) Limit Austin to PR duties
C.) Cut Austin
... put me down for 'A'
Wish it was that simple, AlbaNY.
Truth is, McVay is gonna use his considerable imagination as to how best to utilize Tavon. McVay knows that this is a make or break year for Tavon because of that ridiculous salary.
So, I expect Tavon to be given ample opportunity to shine in many different ways. I wouldn't rule anything either in or out for Tavon this year. So yeah, a modified A from your choice list.
I hope that Tavon can explode in one or more areas of the new O. I don't expect it, mind you, but I do have a great deal of respect for McVay's O coaching abilities. That's the best thing that Tavon has going for him right now.
