Fisher knows he has a big hand in being 7-9. I believe what he is saying is that breaking rules and having a "friend" in the dorm after being told it cant happen is the kind of behavior and focus that leads a team to a 7-9 bull---t season.
He is just using that example to show what the players will get if they dont focus on football and break the team rules, it leads to an avalanche of lack of focus during practice, which leads to game day failings.
