I don't think Davonte extends he is a good wide receiver and scores touchdowns but he isn't the type of receiver at this point of his career that will twist and contort or crash to the ground to make a reception. This makes his catch radius smaller. I read somewhere Rams drafted a receiver that has similar attributes Kupp and Nakua have. It's not a matter of the player deserving it. I think it's more important that a teams doesn't let big contracts get in the way of having a roster that addresses all positions and doesn't leave holes in the roster that limits the team from competing for a championship. He's a true freshman so I think he has 2 more years before he is eligible. 3,454 yards passing 18 touchdowns 9 ints. Rushed for 4 TDS. Athletic 6'4" 225 Throws deep, sideline and roll outs. He's probably on the radar of many teams. I don't see him as a player who wants to dig deep and do the work it takes to excel to the point he can carry a team to a superbowl win. From what I've read he did a good job stepping in for Stafford preparing for the season. He may just be a camp quarterback now due to his inactivity. Puka is key to the Rams success. Without his numbers Rams don't win the close games they typically always have. It's a good sign he is willing to go into rehab. Stafford has 1 more year maybe 2 and a long shot he plays 3. Rams should take a receiver or tight end and a linebacker in the draft.
