Well said Bucky, well said. Exactly what I've noticed.....and his blame of Goff is going to haunt him if he doesn't get a SB. Not a fan of McVay as a leader any longer. Clearly, long time football people are questioning the same things...by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
From Mike Silver. Glad everyone is so excited by this move, I'm much more skeptical and have lost respect for Snead/McVay. To each their own, hope we get a Super Bowl or two out of this....because it's bleak after that. Fun Fact: The Rams are now paying their starting Super Bowl backfield 30 MILLION DOLLARS to NOT play for them. Seems smart. Hope Goff and Gurley enjoy the cash.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
No matter what side of the Goff/McVay debate you were on, this looks like a team in dangerous territory. Reminds me of how excited people were for Bulger...post after post for a couple of years.....only to realize they were wrong and it didn't work. I'm gathering my thoughts for a post on this, but your comments on the Chargers are similar thoughts to what I have. In a nutshell, I think Snby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Well he definitely is getting it. I have like Stafford.....but I do NOT like this trade. I hope we win at least one Super Bowl......because the years after won't be fun.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
The fleeced the Rams and can rebuild their franchise. Love my Rams....officially not a fan of Snead or McVay. Hope they bring us a Super Bowl.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
....this is a do or die on Snead/McVay's career. Terrible job, don't care that it's a business.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
They need at least one, but actually two to make this look smart on any level. We are about to learn a lot about Sean McVay. Apologies for the negativity, but I bet this move haunts this franchise for many years. You can't give up that many draft picks, year after year after year. True gambling by Snead.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they like 'themselves' a little too much. I've officially lost a ton of respect for both of them. But at least we know Snead is riding or dying with McVay I hope we get a Super Bowl or two out of this.....because after that......by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
But we will be subjected to endless post of how Stafford is now a combo of Dan Marino and Joe Montana. This team man....... just when you think they turn a corner on decades of dumb......2 #1's.......ALL pressure is now on Sean McVayby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree, I really appreciate the posters that can debate/consider other views in a polite manner. That's the part I can't wrap my head around. I haven't been able to arrive at a conclusion: is McVay's hyper controlling manner due to him thinking Goff can't handle much or is this just who he is with any QB he would get? I don't see that he has done much development of Goff to be honest....andby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
I sincerely think that Goff's problems may be a little his limited athleticism and a dash of McVay's inexperience and high control/micromanage system with his QB. Andy Reid wouldn't have developed Goff this way. Nor Frank Reich. Goff literally only knows Boras high school offense for a season, then a Sean McVay, in his ear, high control offensive system. I think that is where I hold Mcby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't and won't argue that... The rub from my perspective is this: how much of that is McVay's failure to develop Goff into a stellar QB vs. creating a micromanaged robot that runs his offense? If you've ever been on a job where you're trained a certain way from day one, you tend to hold to that throughout your career. I wonder if Goff's NFL experience, aside from a brief time with Fisherby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
.....clearly, that was epically stupid.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
They have insight into the real dynamic with this situation....and they lived through it with Gurley, Cooks, Talib and Peters. Likely keeping their mouths shut and enjoying direct deposit.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
No way. I think he is a bright coach, that is just turning 35 and lets his emotions get in the way at times. He also has not grown as a play caller. I'd keep him; I'd bring in an older coach to help (sorry to see Wade go in that way) He is the age of some of his players.....whether we like it or not, that age thingy causes tension in every job or profession. I think we are seeing it. I aby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Makes for great board material, right? Healthy disagreement makes for good dialogue. I'm honestly surprised that so many on this board find this entire thing positive and/or hopeful. Our GM and HC are demonstrating some real issues with long term decision making, culture, etc. Say what you will about the NFL being a business, but human beings are human beings..... and this can divide a lockby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Reminds me of the NBA....currently unwatchable and irrelevant on so many levels. Now the star CB is openly a source for a new QB. And if it doesn't happen, he co-exists in a locker room with Goff and Wolford? I'll say it again: familiar dysfunction. Genuine question: you all see this as a positive situation?by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
According to Todd McShay, he isn't much better than Goff. Definitely more mobile/athletic. I'd like to see the comparison to draw my own conclusion.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
He has been exposed. He has been suffering since losing to Chicago in 2018. He has never adjusted, not in the Super Bowl, not in 2019 and not last season. Blaming it all on Goff now. It simply cannot be 'the genius' coach on any level; must be all on the QB. I hope fans are ready. Barring some incredible trade, I see some tough times coming.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Way too much draft capital to give up. They have a young, stud LT. If they use some of those picks to build the OL and get another skilled WR to go with Crowder, pick up a stud RB in later rounds......you have a nucleus. Why give all those players up for Watson? Darnold needs a new, dynamic OC and QB coach.... Just my opinionby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
None. Watson is sure talented, but so much more so that we mortgage picks? Ryan is the only other QB that has been through the Super Bowl experience, right? Rodgers just isn't coming here.... It's great to be 'bold' like Snead, but at what point is it wreckless?by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Love that choice, was torn between the C at Alabama and Creed....either way, we have a road grader right up the middle. Like you, I think we need an infusion of young talent at the LBer position.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
I've seen several discussions about Newman, but spent no time watching him. A staring QB in the 2nd would be a steal.by Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
He has been hired away to Seattle to be their run game coordinator per Mike Silverby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
Nothing has been the same since that Chicago game. The OL has never been the same; some flashes, but mostly figured out. I continue to believe that Goff, in a true West Coast offense, would be deadly. Not sure this team has the personnel to run what McVay keeps attempting to run..... This team is not 'fast' and it's all predicated on zone blocking and getting to the edges.....who on theby Ram49 - RamsFootballFans.com
