that apparently has bought him several free passes?by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
Grob, Tavon, Quick, Pead, Everett, Goff, etc.. too many high (1st and 2nd round) busts for my taste, some coming after giving up picks to move up (Tavon & Goff).by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
but you are right, he is somehow liked here. Not by me. The guy is most overrated GM in league. He was terrible with Fisher and should have been fired when they canned him. Snead has lived a charmed life. He has no eye for talent, and does not really say anything insightful when he speaks. He makes some bold trades....some good, just as many bad.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
and gurley will be comeback player of year. he is not injured. he had no holes to run through. Ill admit, less hurdles, but he has plenty left in tank. never should have been extended as he was, but he still has the goods.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
thats a good point about extensions. We could sure use a fixture like a Steve Hutchinson type on our line. Another RB is a typical flashy Snead type pick, so won't shock me, but I would go OL in rds 2 and maybe 3. We cannot win without protecting Goff and opening holes for Henderson. Maybe Evans or Noteboom, or Corbett or Edwards will be "serviceable" but none of them will be great. Ourby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
I never heard that. Rams made best offer....by a long shot I betby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
I do not believe you get two 1's from a team, but you never know so long as texans are run by O'Brien. I didn't like the trade as Ramsey is a diva and not sure he is a D Revis type talent. He will also be very expensive to resign and depletes the team of cheap, great rookie talent. I understand paying generational talents like AD, but it comes at a steep price...that price will be a lack of depthby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
solidify the lines, late round rb.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
cbs has a mock with Ezra at #20, and I have seen him getting more and more love in rd 1...it took me one minute to find him in 1st rd mock: Im ok with either a LT for future as Whitworth is at end and I don't believe in Noteboom. A Center or Guard should be able to start immediately and be a long term solution...but LT is the harder position to fill. Id be ok with either. I think there isby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
but your opinion is the same as anyone else's. McCoy and Jenkins were taken after all the other guys mentioned. They were available before Rams traded to back part of the 2nd rd to accumulate more picks.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
they are all consistently projected to go in the 1st or 2nd rd...but yeah some development but guys with pedigree. Im realistic that there is some development required given the fact Snead foolishly trades away our 1st rd picks.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
when has patience ever paid off on waiting for a player to reach his potential? Everyone always assumes year 2 is when a player will break out, and if he doesn't its usually due to an injury so we give him another year, and then another, and then finally he is a bust. If a rookie doesn't start producing at end of his rookie year, it "might" not happen. If it doesn't happen by year 2, itby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
who wants a developmental LT? What if he does not develop as planned which is actually more likely than not? Suddenly you have a gaping hole at the most important position on the line. At least a guy like J Jones or Ezra Cleveland have high potential....does Noteboom? I don't think so. You can't wait forever hoping these guys will be able to step in and start. Didn't we try that last year with Alby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
I was not referring to players we could have had in that draft. I was really speaking as to what I hope we do this year. Last year I was hoping we would grab Cody Ford. Other guys who had pedigree were Jawaan Taylor, Dalton Risner, Eric McCoy & E Jenkins to name a few. They were all well thought of highly respected prospects. I am hoping we can get a guy like this, a name I will recognizeby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
LT and 52, a C in the 3rd. that would make me happy.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
. Who was the competition....A Blythe, Havenstein, Allen??? Whitworth was average at best, and not getting better at his age. Dont get me wrong, I like the guy, he is a leader and still ok player, but he is on the decline, and it is foolish to not anticipate a further decline and possible injury given his age. I don't even know who is backup is? Maybe Noteboom who was injured last year? How maby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
Whitworth may or may not be an average LT at this point. Noteboom was a reach as a LT and has been hurt and mostly unproductive. That is not adequate for the most important position on the o line.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
last year is proof. When you can't protect the QB or open holes for RB, your whole offense is impotent, which in turns puts pressure on the Defense. Relying on improved play of mid round draft picks from past few years is not a solution.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
he was a reach in the draft, and will never be a legit answer at LT. Clinging to this hope is about as foolish as thinking Allen is still our future at Center. Its time to get some linemen with pedigree.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
seems pretty obvious if that is indeed our starters.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
this article is bonkers.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
he aint worth that, nor should he be a starter.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
and I agree that the #52 pick is where we can get an upgrade at O Line. Look at last year's 2nd rd linemen...Risner, J Taylor, Ford, Little, Jenkins, McCoy....any of these guys would have been a better pick last year Imo than Rapp, who will be a good player. We can upgrade our O Line at #52 and I hope we do.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
Jackson was a great talent wasted on terrible Rams teams with terrible offensive lines. You draft a rb in 2nd or 3rd rd and you will see the same outcome. Good rb talents wasted on terrible offenses, it never works.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
a rb with our first pick would be asinine. Remember Steven Jackson on all those terrible Ram teams? Thats what we would have.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
I highly doubt they had trades in place. I think it is very unlikely. If he was so in demand as to have teams willing to trade for him, I imagine he could have signed for more than he did. the relationship obviously soured, thats why he was cut imo.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
JJ is replaceable. The other two will be expensive.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
but I'm the one that thinks Gurley will be fine with blocking. No rb will get 4+ yards per carry behind the likes of our o line as it now stands.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
he's been in the system long enough. we traded a lot to move up to get him. Lets at least give him the chance to show us what he's got. I'm sure we will draft a guy in the 4th rd or later that could round out our depth.by spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
We have M Brown and Henderson. If we draft another RB in 2nd or 3rd rd you are admitting that Henderson is not what you thought. Im not ready to make that claim, and even if he is not, M Brown should be able to serve as a # 1 back. You want to see a ram RB have success, draft some real linemen who can actually open some holes and protect the QB. Blythe, Havenstein, Corbett, Allen, Noteboom will sby spagsbacker - RamsFootballFans.com
