about the width of the beam used in Women's gymnastics. They laid in on my daughter's living room floor. Then 3 of my grandsons began to show off their stuff. :laughing Actually I was somewhat impressed. 360's, jump splits, and landing them. However, I can say without doubt that none of them will ever medal in gymnastics. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I was expecting some type of 'redemption' in a finale.... it never came. But in the end the Olympics are about sportsmanship and fair competition.... the athletes are the stars. And in that vein: Kenya is quite amazing in training long distance runners. Kipghoge will be going for his 3rd Gold Medal in the Marathon. but it's not a 'major' criticism. I think the athletes coming in on boats is cool.... very nice views of Paris in the background. I just don't like it as much as the athletes marching in to the stadium. Actually, I like it a LOT less than the athletes marching in. But that's just me. :laughing I am HOPING, and it could happen, the boats are transporting the athletes to the stadium for a gby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I really respect and love the way you and Frank support the Cards. Most of the fans of sports I know today are very different. Yes, they support a team but it almost seems like they do so not so much because they love their chosen teams but rather for the ability to smack talk fans of other teams.... or to root against a specific teams more than rooting FOR their chosen teams. no surprise - the air conditioner on the south side of my home, (bedrooms), went out two days ago. Immediate call to the repairman was placed BUT.... I'm not the only one with a malfunctioning air conditioner. So the last two nights I've been trying to open the windows and run our whole house fan. It's not working very well.... the reason being: At 10pm last night it was still over 90º.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I suppose I'm a little more forgiving about the new Uni's than most. For example.... after the games there is always at least one thread commenting on the color combo they wore... the 'style'.... and I'm clueless. I'm so into the game itself that during the games you could ask me to close my eyes then tell you what colors/styles they are wearing and I probably couldn't tell you. HOWEVER...by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
And some are much higher. Yeah, a full uniform today is a major investment. I lived thru the transition. :laughing In grammar school we wore the leather helmets our HS gave us as they transitioned. No face mask. HS's "new" helmets had a single bar. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
He's not using one of the schools helmets. It will last him thru HS, most likely. This year it was easy to do because buying your own helmet didn't require painting. You could order the same white our HS uses. In years past our HS had a specific color of red so even though you could buy your own you'd have to have it painted to match the team. My grandson would have bought his own anyby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
they do not have to buy their own helmets. Everything is provided but you can upgrade most of the 'protection' gear if you want to. Not jerseys, pants... but the type of pads yes. BTW... this year Kerman is going to all white helmets instead of the traditional red helmets. As far back as I can remember they've always been red. It's going to look strange.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
You're 14, about to be a Freshman in HS, and your new Riddel Speed Flex helmet is delivered by UPS. Nope, you can't overstate the excitement. :laughing Which leads to.... This one hurt.... I mean it was actually painful for me. This was said in all seriousness.... it was NOT meant as a diss. With the helmet coming in we were discussing helmets and logo's.. And this comes from experience.... although not my personal experience. My son-in-saw had severe diverticulitis for years and he ignored it, as far as "diet". His story is a nightmare and took place over the last two years. I'm not going to go into all of it... too horrible to talk about... but here's just enough to hopefully scare the hell out of you into doing "WHATEVER&qby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

I've lost count of how many times I've watched this. ALL the women on the USA team, (and other teams as well), are incredibly fast but one stands out to me... and you're probably thinking I'm going to say Gabby Thomas, right? I'm not. Oh Gabby is fast all right... amazingly so. She runs a fantastic 3rd leg. But watch Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who runs the 2nd leg. Her stride is easy to vieby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
what I don't understand is why a much simpler change, as I explained in the original post, would not accomplish the same thing.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
that what occurred in '99 was "Magical". I couldn't agree MORE. I could use the same word to explain "some" of what I saw from ED. And I do not use that term loosely. Thru the years I've seen 'magical' performances but they are rare, at least for me they are. Flipper was a magical performance, for example. Looking at it from a 'team' perspective I'd have to say, (evby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
plagiarized from.... who posted about it recently? Anyway, I looked into it a little, (not enough), and I don't know. It seems overly complex to me. So I have a question... for those of you who fully understand the new rule: Couldn't they have done the same thing by moving the kickoff line back 5, even 10 yards, and then maybe moving the kickoff team's line up 5 or 10 yds to reduce fullby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com

Which reminds me.... I think I had the greatest idea ever for how to end the Harry Potter series. I think I posted this before. At the end of the last movie it should have shown Harry's son sitting down at Hogworst and having the "Sorting Hat" placed on his head with the final line in the movie coming from the "Sorting Hat" and saying "Dumbledor". - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I swear that man had to be paper thin the way he could slightly turn and then slip between two defenders when there wasn't more than a couple of inches of space. Gone at age 94. I consider Bob as great as any other comedian you can name. An incredible talent who seemed born specifically for comedy. He had a deadpan delivery that VERY few other comedians perform. Jack Benny is in that group... any others? I loved everything this guy did... his stand-up and his TV roles. Here, where she and I live, it's been well over 100º... which is normal for us. In Boston it was around 90º and she said it was the most miserable heat she's ever experienced. Being so close to Disneyland and going there as often as we do I had just assumed "Fantasmic" would be well known. That was stupid of me. "Fanstasmic" is simply the name of an outdoor show held in Disneyland. The stage is on 'Tom Sawyer Island" which is surround by the River of America. Watching it on YouTube or not. I think... don't. It's just one of those things that you need to see it live. No chance a video does it justice, although it's probably still impressive. Fantasmic is a live show at Anaheim Disney. Perhaps it's at all the parks? I don't know. Anyway... greatest spectacle I've ever seen. Truly mind blowing.
