I see little value in Tavon Austin. He is not a WR. He cannot do what we need from that position. He does produce, but he produces out of gimmicks that we don't really need. Give us a good WR and the rest of our offense and subtract Tavon ... and we'd never miss him. I like Snead in general. But this was really stupid. Cap money on Tavon? Please.by RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
Hi, guys. Watched the game last night on NFL Channel. It sure is frustrating to have missed those Ram offense series. What the hell ... I don't have anything brilliant here. In a number of ways, I was very encouraged. The run D was outstanding. The OL has become a team strength, doing decently in its toughest test so far this year. Keenum threw very well, and sometimes aggressively, hitting veby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
What I like best about Goff. He don't scare worth a damn. It's apparent to everyone that he is fitfully, somewhat erratically adapting to the speed and complexity of NFL defenses. In that sense, words like "confidence" and "comfort" are appropriate ones to throw around, as so many are doing. In terms of execution, he is half a step slow in confidence and comfort, and itby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
Remember when Sherlock Holmes drew a significant deductive conclusion from the observation that the dog DID NOT bark in the night? I am put in mind of that fictive moment thinking of our OL through 2 PrS games. If you have played any football at any level, you know that the slowest thing to come around in a pre-season is the coordination of the OL, especially in the running game. The defense iby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
Let me just add a note on what I look for. You stress a defense by occupying safeties. And you do that by having WIDE receivers--not slots--who can beat CBs. That pulls safeties over and back to contain the damage. The minute you do that, all sorts of things open up in the short middle of the field. Not only can RBs get traction against 7 man boxes, but slots and TEs have room to work.by RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
The essence of this post is a reference to comments by Fisher. Thing is, Fisher has, with virtually no evidence, stated for years that we have good receivers. There's nothing new in his saying this again this year, especially as the team has invested heavily in rookies. Early on at least, he is going to vamp them no matter what. I suppose not mentioning Quick could be seen as a tell tail, bby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteleafnoseQuick may have been out there, but the targets weren't coming his way. Well, ... A WR needs to get open to draw a throw. Not sure I saw a wide open Quick being overlooked. That's the thing with our WRs. (Not talking about slots) Neither Quick nor Britt have ever proven that they can consistently get separation on the perimeter. And that's why our passing game is so moribund.by RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
Sorry, Man. I don't see it. I see little value in TA. He's a gadget that pops for a big play now and then. But he can't give you anything consistent at WR or at RB. Or, really, in the slot. You can't build things on him. Now, if you have a couple of good WRs (setting slots aside), a pass catching TE and a consistent running game (a maturing OL, TG, Benny, Brown or Green) ... You really dby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamBillThe Rams’ defensive line is supposed to be the team’s strength, a cornerstone for a unit that must be stout as the offense seeks to develop an identity beyond running back Todd Gurley. So defensive tackle Aaron Donald took Coach Jeff Fisher’s words as a challenge. For me, last night was a strange game. Rarely do I recall a PS game with such a range of virtually contradictory tell tails. Like many of you, I saw some exciting positives and some deeply worrying negatives. I don't know really how to sort it all out. Let me say that the comeback in the 2nd half means a lot more, IMO, than it would in the vast majority of cases. Two reasons for that. Firstby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgatorKendricks cannot touch Higbee. It's true that Kendricks has not been, is not now, nor ever will be a dominant receiving TE. And it's also true that Higbee shows signs of becoming just that. It's also true that Higbee is not half the blocking TE Kendricks is. And that the 2 guys play essentially different roles. Virtually different positions. Kendricks is a consummate profby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
