Nice post James. Yep-the Stanford swimmer was great not only the swim but the award ceremony. And what an inspiration for African American children. No less in a sport where so many claimed African Americans would never be good enough to compete due to physical characteristics, etc. Truly inspiring. Hypocrites are neat fellows. They always win no matter what. While I secretly root for the Rams always I like to post negative stuff. That way if they win I'm happy and if they lose I said they would. Best of all worlds. It's like that old saying "take responsibility for your own actions". I don't like that. I read a great piece in today's L.a. Times about the Thompson kids. Klay plays for the Warriors in the NBA. Trayce plays for the Dodgers. Mychel is in the minors (baseball). Their dad Mychal Thompson was the number one draft choice in the NBA and starred for the Lakers. I know you travel to So Cal often so I'm assuming an issue of this significance would not be a problem But before I give you a recommendation what do his parents say about this. Seems like it's their call. If they are OK with the travel I would highly recommend two orthopedic venues. One is USC and the other is Newport Orthopedics in Newport Beach and Irvine. He actually IS Humpty Dumpty ! But he also knows more about football than anyone here-having played the game for a long time at a very high university level (USC Captain) as did his father and others in the family. Speaking of going home: do you know that it takes 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way! I don't know when this started but I'm guessing there is no need to rush out for party favors to celebrate a homecoming. I mean the foundation of the question is wrong-dead wrong-namely that the sun actually moves. It is the earth that's moving and Goff must know that and thus it was an impossible question to answer since the question itself was based on a falsehood. After all he went to Berkeley. "Petros has been a cold bucket of water on anything Rams for sometime now." I'm not sure he's a QB fan period. He was that way re Bradford and anyone else the Rams had at QB. He's also on the Charger station and that may have something to do with his take. The Rams OTOH will be on KMPC (ESPN). Actually the computer nerds have done studies on stuff like this. You might be surprised but for the most part-not by any means 100% accurate-you can tell how the season will turn out by the -get this-the very first series of downs !! The rap on him was that players would go back into the huddle and he would call a play that no one ever heard of. And then he would make something up.. You know these plays are no longer like "42 left on 5" . Hey James-common on now. This is not an endorsement of Papadakis. But I thought his take on the ability to actually "call plays" was interesting since we never talk about that stuff and apparently as a real football player he considers that important. I suspect that getting the right play called AND getting it off in 40 seconds after the play is dead really is important. I also suspectby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

According to Petros Papadakis on 5.70 L.A. radio Goff should not have been drafted number one. For those who are unfamiliar with the Fox sports program Petros was tailback and captain of the worst USC football team in history-according to himself. Yes-besides most of the time our "opinions" are only on what we see on the screen. And most TV broadcasts focus on the qb and skill players. So its really difficult for us to judge and so we depend on the media to inform us.
