Question Regarding Conditioning/Injuries - 2 days ago
Ok, this may be a stupid question but here goes. In the case of injuries to a knee like Puka suffered, or an ankle like Kupp is battling through. How do these players keep up their cardio shape? Obviously, they can lift weights for upper body & do core work. I am sure it depends on the injury. Do they swim? Tread water? Stationary bike? Elliptical? I don't want to be the turd in the punch bowl, ........ I know Tutu played very well, in a must win situation, thank god. Credit to him. But, I have a real concern I have noticed in his Rams career. He does not catch the ball well, he double clutches many balls. He does not pluck the ball out of the air, he kind body catches and corrals the ball. How many times does he bobble the ball? Is there any reason on the planet that the Rams should not sign former San Diego State punter Matt Araiza? All charges were dropped against the young man. Is he still punting in Mexico for the Tijuana Galgos? He is only 22, and he was amazing. I have a feeling the Rams will be punting quite a bit this season. How about work on just being competitive first? Rams have more holes than a block of swiss cheese. They are cap struck, have many players coming back from injury, no high draft capital, and major coaching staff changes coming. I would be amazed if they could be in the playoff hunt. McVay is no dummy, he knows the Rams must evolve a bit to compete against the 49ers. There will be changes now going forward. Increased physicality is a must with the Rams. Mike LaFleur will lend insight into how the 49ers attacked the Rams as well. He knows how the Rams were viewed specifically by the 49ers. Can't argue that point. Other than Kupp, nothing at WR. OL is subpar at every single position. TE is below average. Absolutely nothing at RB. Wow, that is depressing. Now, the big question is, how do you go about rebuilding? I never thought I would say it, but, the Rams are in a total rebuild mode. Didn't even touch on the defense.... The retirement of Whitworth at LT has been a crippling loss. His play, consistency, and leadership has been a huge loss to a unit that was barely good enough. Noteboom has been underwhelming. Nobody has even shown the slightest reason for optimism at OLB. Group producing absolutely nothing. The loss of Von Miller has been ENORMOUS imho. After another beatdown courtesy of the 49ers, McVay looked completely different in last night's postgame presser. He looked like a guy that knew he/his team does not have what it needs to beat the 49ers. I do not believe it is capable of being "fixed" this season. I know the board is feeling crushed and down after another 49ers loss. I truly believe if the Rams played the 49ers a hundred times, with the current rosters, the Rams may win one or two. 49ers are built to beat the Rams, they are better, they know it and unfortunately the Rams know it as well. Well, I was sitting with a friend (Giants fan) and we both noticed and watched the entire situation intently. I am not overly concerned, but I definitely was not happy about what I witnessed as well. I wanted to bring something to light that I noticed at the game on Sunday. As the game was winding down, I was adamant that the Rams NEEDED to get their defensive starters out of the game. Eventually, they all were except for ONE. TWICE a replacement entered the game only to be waived off by the player. After two failures, McVay called timeout, just to get this guy off the field!!!
