Don't get me wrong on Rapp--I'm a big fan and solid in my book means alot. And they have put him man on tes almost all season. But that also inflates the tackle numbers fwiw. I meant to communicate I dont think he has JJ3 upside. Hope to be proved wrong but in the meantime I'll take the solid SS safety/cover player combo he is right now. The Rams are a smart team--they recognize how important cby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

ESPN and PFF do game by game stats. Unfortunately, ESPN post the info at their leisure and inconsistently. Following Seth Walder on twitter is the best way, I know of, of keeping up with what they release. Not sure what one really learns from a one game sample other than the performance of that game.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
This seems to me an incomplete analysis of Goff's time to throw stats. The author does not appear to consider the overall story at all when drawing conclusions from the data. Let's look at 2018. Goff is QB in a play action heavy offense that throws the ball down the field. 2018 Clean All Dropbacks Avg Time to Throw 2.67 s (32nd or longest in the NFL) 2018 P/A All Dropbacks ATTTby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
One stat I like for judging OL performance is the ESPN Pass Block Win Rate metric. They take the player tracking data from Next Gen Stats and measure if a blocker is beat before 2.5 seconds(Loss) or after(Win). I have ESPN+ so not sure if this is paywalled but here is a link: In 2019, the Rams are at 54% which ranks 24th. 1st is the Packers at 68%, 32nd is the Bengals at 41%, 16th in tby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think ranking lines by 1s/individually is not useful. Lines either block well or they dont block well. The key is frequency. Grouping lines by tiers--Good, Average, Bad--is probably the best anyone can do anyways. The rest is clickbait or meaningless. Line play is dependent on so many factors--matchups by player type, matchups by scheme, home field advantage, game situation, etc. One keby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Apologies for not being clear. By situation I generically mean down, distance, plays, score differential that match the skill set of the line less. For example, more 2nd and 3rd and longs, more empty formations on 1st down or more short yardage formations on 3rd and 1. Maybe a better way of calling it is Game situation. I wouldnt call anyone on our line a good pure pass blocker. Whit back iby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
To me the main question is "What exposed the oline?" Situations the oline were put in, decline in performance, etc. The answer to that question, I think, is the key to fixing the issue.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Dude, please tell me this post is a joke.. If not, know how thin the line is between winning and losing in the Nfl. And how quickly things change not only year to year but month to month. You have the same feeling about the Eagles and the Bears and the Chargers? What about the Chiefs and the Colts? I'll not type the rest of what I'm thinking and wish you well.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Why do you feel like QB Rating under pressure is a small sample size? If you take all dropbacks by a Qbs the NFL average for under pressure is 28.6%. So, clean dropbacks are almost 3x a larger sample than pressured dropbacks. Pressured dropbacks happen significantly less often and thus are more susceptible to variance. Like if you flip a coin and look at the results--often you will deviatioby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
QB Rating is going to be fairly unstable year to year--lot of variance in the tds, and ints. And rating under pressure even more so because of the smallish sample size. Which is one thing is Russ' favor because his pressure sample size is so much larger than everyone else's. I would caution that looking at just under pressure numbers is just part of the story. Great post. We are 6-5 and playing way below our potential. We have a QB who can complete downfield throws. McVay has gotten way predictable and the NFL as a whole has changed how they defend those crossing routes. The NFL has adjusted to McVay's base offense but he will exploit those adjustments. But the team needs reps--notice all the plays we miss by a step. In two years the NFL willby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
I've thought this for a while and know I will say it--this guy is an idiot. Please quantify ego for me? I see alot of ways we can win and alot we can lose. Defense has to tackle and maintain their gaps. Can't let Brown hurt us deep or let Jackson turn 3rd downs into 1st downs w his legs. Offense has to be efficient on first and second downs. Minimize the 3rd and longs. And the usual win turnovers, minimize penalties. Ravens are good. Very beatable. Im kind of meh on a full time spy but I think a spy a portion of the time is valuable. Jalen seems the best fit to me. He is the best all around athlete and physical enough to play in the box. When I dont use Jalen as a spy he is in good position, in the box, to take away one of the TEs. Ignoring the quality of linemen, these 3rd and long situations are allowing them to tee off on us. We need to improve on 1st down. 3 and 5+ is drive over for us. Let's move Goff around.
