I'm not an expert in all contractual things but if the Rams own AD for the next few years, why should they give him a huge chunk of change now? AD is contractually obligated to play next year for what he signed for as a rookie. Then, if I understand things right, the Rams could "tag" him for the next two year at some significantly higher rate, but probably not as high as free agent raby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The unimpressive Pete reviews the 2015 draft and his analysis. I give him great credit for his mea culpa: Quote"How I did: I liked the pick of Brown in the third, but I wasn't on board with Gurley in the top 10. Why? My philosophy is not to draft backs that high. He's a great player, and I thought he would be good, but position value influenced my grading. I agree with Jemach here. I remember reading some of pff's "statistical" work and was not impressed. That work would not have stood scrutiny in a professional environment. I think because so many people love football they naturally delve into many things that help understand the game. We all do to some degree or another. But it is a egotistical for someone to present himselfby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You are a lucky dog! Grats. That is so sweet. Great memories for a lifetime.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I watch less of both. I have watched the Rams this season more than during the last 8 years or so. I never felt that I should devote my time to an organization that was not committed to putting out a quality product. Obviously that has changed and for the first time in a long while it was great to be a Rams' fan again. I almost never watch college football. I like to follow just a coupleby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, I also want to say that I've appreciated and enjoyed so much the work that so many guys have put into talking about all things Rams. Thank you.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that ILB is our biggest weakness. Wouldn't it be smarter to trade our 1st for a proven ILB. We may not get an all pro but surely there are a couple teams with some solid LB they would trade? That way, you don't have to deal with the inexperience of a rookie in a position that requires experienced wisdom?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow 43, "gild the lily," such an appropriate use of that metaphor. Well done. I've done some writing in my time and I always appreciate English creativity, like, "a bouncing bowling ball of butcher blades."by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow, nice to meet a fellow fan from Italy! Welcome. Yeah, this is the most exciting Rams' offseason I've ever experienced. Its so good to see our FO really trying to win instead of hoping the same ol routine works out.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Well said La. AD and TG were both Fisher guys, right? There are a few other very good players still on the team. Fisher deserves some of the credit. Your comment, that he couldn't do much with the talent is accurate.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I found this one, I thought it was great. "And in other sports news, the LA Rams sign Defensive Lineman Sauron of Mordor... …and are rumored to be in negotiations with WR Lord Voldemort (currently with New England)."by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting the entire enchilada Old. Its a great, real-life story, and probably a great experience for you to get a glimpse into the future!by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Well Old, Your reliable source was reliable. Nice. Let me know if he gives you advice on what stocks to buy. You get the prize! Congrats.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This whole series of acquisitions has been amazing. I don't recall this ever happening in the NFL. Our FO swooped in and picked up a lot of talent. Whether they win, or don't win the SB, at least our FO is trying hard to put together a great team. Compared to the previous FO's performances, I'm appreciative and impressed. And isn't 14M/yr cheap if not moderate for a player of Suh's caliberby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Zn, Can you post a link to one of the "studies" that state that 60% of the cap goes to the top 10 players. I'm not disagreeing or arguing, I'd just like to read the article. I find that in the world of sports, a lot of peeps use stats in strange ways. You know the saying, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. I googled and I found one article that showed that the topby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you. He is not worth QB money. I would like to see the Rams use the rules allowed to them and make him a nice offer, but not at the detriment of not being able to sign good players at other positions. I expect him to hold up his end of the contract.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
If you weren't talking, you wouldn't be posting. Doh! You just jinxed it! : :-) Since I don't believe in jinxes, I think it's all gonna work out. With or without a DE named Sue, I'm alright.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
They had a great story-book season. Most everybody wrote them off after Wentz went down. But instead they played like a team, has superior coaching, and won the Superbowl against the defending Champions, the lethal Pats. What a great win! As great as our coach is, I think Pederson deserved coach of the year over him. Since we are inclined to give McSnead a great heap of the benefit of theby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I understand what you are saying. But, the primary reason this team exists is to win football games. History shows that sometimes men of poor character can have great accomplishments, and men of excellent character fail at difficult tasks. Plus, people do change, and mature. I'm old now, but I can see that I am still becoming a nicer, more considerate person, than I was 20 years ago. Let'sby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, I do as well. I grew up watching the Rams' D Line of Olsen, Bacon, Jones, and Talbert. There was something endearing, something special, about that line. Also, don't more teams win the SB with a 4-3 than with a 3-4?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
And now my friends, you understand the world of today's journalism. Be cast in the "expert" light and put out volumes of shallow work. Most journalists, in most all fields, do this. They're not that smart, not as knowledgeable, not as all-knowing that they're made out to be. They are not paid well. However, they're usually good writers. Since they're under pressure to publish, thby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not aware of any character issues with Faulk. In fact maybe it was just the opposite. However, he did have contact issues and intended to hold out. I think he also missed some preseason practices, etc. I believe that the Colt's leadership wanted to take the team in a new direction and they didn't want the Faulk hold out to be a distraction or a point of contention within the team. So theby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. They took a bum team soundly into the playoffs. As much as I've hated the FO back in the day, they have certainly earned the benefit of the doubt.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I just got off the phone with Ballard and Reich, they said they'd give us a 2nd and 5th for the back. They said they weren't concerned about any clubhouse problems. Since there must be something wrong with Gurley, I say "make the trade!" It's a good deal for the Rams because, let's face it, nobody smart would ever give up a great RB for just a 2nd and 5th. Like a lot of people havby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think getting an All pro CB, for a 4th and 2nd, at a cheap price, is a steal. Thousands of Chiefs' fans can't be wrong! I get a large amt. of schadenfreude reading their comments. I have been unjustly critical of Snead in times past, but I think it is plain to see that's he's done great here. We don't know how its going to pan out this upcoming season, but on paper its a great, inspirby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you Old. His tackling ability was poor, at least the few times I've seen him try to tackle. I would think that by now, any LB knows you usually can't arm tackle RBs. He seemed to try, and fail, at that often. OTOH, I bet he has a lot of good stats as far as being in on tackles. I don't know enough about what is really expected from the two ILBs in a 3-4 to argue stronglyby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've been reading up on OTs and I came across this article which uses some real, but very limited, stats to analyze draft position and future performance for QBs, RBs, and WRs. Some previous Rams WRs are named! I think the article was poorly written and it needs a good editor, but some of his findings are interesting. Skip to his conclusions. The summary is that 60% QBs drafted in the 1st aby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
