Great point New Mexico! I feel the same way you do. I'm not buying the hype and hope just yet. Send me a bag of fresh Hatch green chiles! Ever eat at the Artichoke Cafe in Abq?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I had such a great laugh reading this one and the Cards one. Tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I'm envious of that guy's writing skills, so creative.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hi Rock, You stated that Foster is mediocre. Why do you say that? Personally, I have no idea of how good or bad he is, but I was also wondering if the Rams would be interested in him.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
My four: Warner Faulk Jones Bruce If I wait a week, I might change it to others. So many great guys and great memories. Zn, Thank you for noting Coy Bacon, my namesake. Aside from the game, he continued to be a great man.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Welcome to the board Great! Always nice to meet a fellow Ram fan. I'm in the Deeetroit area, where hope springs eternal for the Lions. Ha ha.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

bah. I'd guess most folks here should get that. What a nice song to have ringing in my head now.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Nice thought out argument DP, more insightful than the average football fan's, (like me). Reminds me of the strategies for war.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Welcome to the board 69. Its always nice to hear from fellow Rams fans.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I wasn't clear in my "starters" statement. I don't expect any of them to be starters this year unless someone gets hurt. I do expect some of them to be starters somewhere down the line. Rapp and Long for sure.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
"Exceed expectations" depends on where your expectations lie. I expect that "none of them" exceed my expectations. I expect the higher level drafted guys to not be starters but reliable backups, and I expect the lower drafted guys to hold the line when they're put into a game, but not change the game's tone. I've never had high expectations for any draft pics becauseby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought CJ exceeded all expectations last season and contributed greatly to some of our victories. That game against Dallas, wow! The Rams thought they were buying copper but they got gold! I would have found the money to keep him on the team. Why not have Gurley, Brown, and CJ on the same team? Too much strength at a cheap cost to lose. I also thought that CJ handled himself with respby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you, but they're not as bad as I expected when I read your title. They're not as bad as Maryland's.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsFanSinceLA Good post Coy but I think it strays a bit from the OP's original point. That is: Do your chances of making it to the Conference Championship game increase with a top 5 PAID QB? Is there a direct correlation? Based on Albany's quick research (which is appreciated), it looks like the answer is no. Yes, I did go in a different direction from Albany's point. I did that becauby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Your post did get me to thinking about top 10 paid QBs, vs the next 20 paid QBs, or some variation of that. I'm more interested in yards per pass, percent completion, TDs, yards per game, total yards for each year, etc. You'd have to take the QBs over as wide of a sample size as possible, a minimum of 5 years, maybe the year before they hit the big money would have to be included. It wouldby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not familiar with the thread that this is a part of, but as a stand alone evaluation has got to be one of the more lame set ups I've seen used in football. The thinking and rationale behind this is really bad.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I would agree with you 43. For me, if I were a vet with a big chunk of change, I'd want a ring. I'd take a million less to get one. Now, that I think about it, for me, if I were a vet with a big chunk of change, I'd retire! No sense taking shots to the head at that point, ring or no ring. But I have a wonderful and engaged life. If all I had was football, then maybe I'd go for the ring.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with Jemach here. It is about the money. The only reason I go to work is for money. If I were an NFL player, who's career could be over in a second, you bet it'd be about the money.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, I like your positions and agree with them. I like Higbee and Everett, I don't think they were a problem, instead I think McVay didn't use them as fully as they could be used. Higbee made some great catches and runs thereafter. I know some guys say we need a super TE, but I've not seen our two TEs fail in the system, I see the system not using them. Therefore, what good would a top TE be?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember seeing Allen in a game and he looked so small and out of place among the larger linemen. I doubted he was big enough to do the center's job. I'm hoping we find a great veteran center to take that job and keep Allen as a backup. OTOH, I admit I am not an expert on all things Center and maybe there are tangibles he has that I don't understand. His small size just surprised me.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes thank you Alyo for doing all this work for the write ups. It is a pleasure to read your work.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It's been an eon of negativity for me, and for the first time since I don't know when, I feel optimistic. After my previous failures in scoffing at your optimism, I have to say that I feel like you. Plus, you've got a pretty good track record in forecasting the future. I don't. Our team has earned the right to expect us to be positive. But I fear that my nest of optimism rests on a thin brby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I understand your point, that we learned from the loss, but we also failed to win the SB. A nice euphemism doesn't hide that. Our O performed badly and we failed. I'm ok with accepting the "agony of defeat", the bitterness of failure, the pain of loss. At least we didn't get as humiliated as Atlanta.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Zn, I hope you don't think that I was criticizing the discussion. It was a painful loss and it is natural, and necessary, for humans to discuss and review these types of things. It's a good thing to do. But it's an assumption of yours that we get to the SB without the trades. It's incredibly difficult to get to the SB. I do disagree with you that draft picks could have provided what the gby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Most Detroit Lions fans would have offered up their firstborn, Plus all of the next two year's draft picks for a trip to the SB. They would laugh in my face, get angry, and call me names if I said, "Heck we Rams paid too much for those trades. We gave up a 1, 2, 3, 4, etc." Then they'd probably punch me in the gut, call me names, and take my wallet, cause they figured I deserved it.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I feel exactly like you Deadpool. What a great year, so much fun. I told friends at work that even if the Rams lose the SB, I know they will be in the hunt for the foreseeable future. We've got a great coach, a great GM talent guy in Snead, a great young QB, RB, WRs, TEs, DT, etc., all great reasons to have confidence in the future. All my Lion's friends would gladly swap places. Theyby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't feel bad Curt, I feel the same way. But I usually am more pessimistic than than justified. I'm hopeful, and I can certainly see how we could win because we have so much talent. To me, the fulcrum is the coach's ability. Belichek is solid gold, McVay is still a youngblood. The Pats have been winning every other year, and since they lost to Philly (yeay!) last year, they're due this yearby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
