Quotemtramfan Much of this involves developing and sticking to a game plan's long-term strategy. Let's suppose, early in the game, you're getting just 2 -3 yards per carry, or may being stopped at LOS a couple of times in the run game? Opposition stacks the box? What to do? Abandon the run altogether? Or, recognize that run blocking is easier on your OL players and harder on the DL thanby Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
I think you just hit the nail on the head. I've been impressed with the new coaching hires across the board, and think they've been developing this young crew where we are in position to reap the benefits at this point of the year. We knew this was going to be a climb, but it is paying off.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
We are literally a win away from the dance, with a little help. Just because it was unbelievable in August doesn't make it so today. Such a crazy season, to go from contemplating a top ten pick to hopeful playoff contention. And so stoked to see us building a team and not buying one. I may question both McVay and Snead at times, but I'm glad they're steering the ship and grateful to have theby Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Kyren has vision Cam never had. There was that infamous shot of him running into blockers and away from the hole that one time. Documented. He was able to hit creases, but seemed to rely on his instincts. Contrast that to Williams on the screen pass TD last week. As soon as he catches the ball, he looks, finds his blocking setup, and knows where he's running to. There's a reason he's specby Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemtramfan To this point I've viewed the criticism of Higbeen on this board as fan rant stuff. Dropping one easy touchdown because of poor fundamentals is a very small sample size - but enough evidence to leave me disgustipated. Well, glad to see you've caught up with the board ranters, Mt.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
Herbert needs a mentor and Staley is not the guy. I think the kid is wildly talented, as is most of the team. When I see so many really good players and so little result, it's always the management. To put it on the QB is short sighted.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com

He's not a bank breaker anymore, but I think we're counting nickles. We have injuries in the backfield, and in years past we'd absolutely make this move for a playoff push. Not feeling we're going to even give this a sniff. Not that they don't care about getting to the playoffs, but seem to be fine getting there with what we have. Curious to see if that holds true.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills it would be nice if he could get that win the Browns have a very good defense and no offense ...the Rams gotta beat them ...and McVay has to be the reason why no? Speed, I know you don't think this is just a gimme game. They have one of the top defenses in the league, and even a one armed Garrett could be a nightmare for this line. Yes, McVay is going to have to call a gby Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote21Dog QuoteCarolinaRam Didn't the Browns beat SF with their backup QB? They beat SF with TJ Walker at QB. Brown defense throttled SF. Ya, I'm worried about them. They could dominate this Oline, shut down the run game and fold Stafford like a taco. It's not going to be AZ Sunday, at all.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteroman18 panthers just fired another HC....never liked that new owner they got when he dumped Rivera. Now maybe Rivera was starting to miss a step, maybe not, but his replacement was supposed to be a better prospect. Now he's gone after 2 last in the NFL finishes, but IMO it all points back to that owner......Tepper. Richardson was head and shoulders over this guy. Ya, even against the sorry old Cards, I'm still stoked at how we played and dominated them. Kinda sad to beat my chest after punching the kid with glasses, but here I am. And it feels pretty good. Seize the day. Enjoy the win.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBC Ramsfan We've all seen games where the running game is going nowhere. Weather vs a great run D or when the D is stacking the box, you can mostly end up in 3rd and 8 if you persist. Without getting into the specifics, IMO we have to remember that wanting to run and being able to run successfully are 2 different things. BC Ok. Quotemtramfan He sets the tone IF YOU PLAY HIM. We'll see what McVay will do from here. So who exactly should submit touches to the great Royce Freeman? I keep seeing this here (and only here) and it boggles the mind... he did a whole lot of nothing while Kyren was out, had a decent game against AZ (behind Williams great game) and now he's a guy we gotta figure out how to get more involved?by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin Rams will be looking hard to find an upgrade for him this offseason. I think there's a real good chance they draft another wideout in the first few rounds. Hopefully after they take a LT. :thumbsup Receivers (other than Puca) always seem to be an investment for us, taking years to groom. And once we have them where we want them, they're gone. When you can't run or you won't run? People have gotten upset because we won't run the ball, not because we can't. That's a false narrative. Kyren Williams against the Bengals - 10 carries for 38 yards. You aren't trying to run the ball when you give your back ten carries. When we play with balance, we have won. The only person who ever has us playing out of balance is Coach. I'm not attackinby Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills breaks tackles/is physical and can make some moves in a hole that we haven't seen in some time. He is no speed demon but has good initial burst what a shame that he got hurt... now I know we played the Cardinals yesterday ... QuoteLMU93 Getting him snaps these final 7 games will be good for his longer term development. Long's $1.34M salary next year won't be worth keeping (as a TE3). Release him along with Noteboom and Allen and boost their cap space another $11M+. Nailed it. Davis made a fantastic catch, and was a capable blocker. He'll get better with reps, and needs to get worked more into the game plan.by Old Goat - RamsFootballFans.com

And that's the thing- judging drafts by whether they have a spot in the team. This crew of rookies is getting national attention and I read about them in places other than this Board.
