It's got to be a LB or S that is going to be on the field almost all the time. Seems like Fuller is the most likely candidate.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's the definition of a bubble player. Has a non-guaranteed $850k salary. Has played a grand total of 23 offensive snaps in his career (and 119 special teams snaps on FG/XP). I'm sure no preseason in 2020 was detrimental to his development. Maybe with a good showing in camp and preseason he sticks as the backup center/8th OL. Really hard to think he'd be more than that.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The mistake wasn't drafting him. It was extending him. Never have big money tied to a RB after year 6 at the latest ever again....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
My favorite pick at the time in that Draft. Thought it was a steal... Too bad....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they're the most complete team in that division right now. Steelers have a lot of issues and will try and duct tape Roethlisberger together for one more year. Cincy who knows. Baltimore should be good. But I think with the Browns acquisitions of Johnson and Hill in the secondary and if Clowney can give them something that could be an upper tier defense to go along with a good offeby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's so hard to project for all the reasons you outlined. I'd have a hard time taking him until the late 4th. He's an absolute project and that's about the place you start taking projects. Their 4/142 selection would be a good spot to get him I think. Maybe someone else takes him sooner. So be it.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I came into this offseason believing ILB was not a priority at all. In fact, I still don't really see it as a "priority." But I'm a big believer in draft 'value' and an ILB very well might end up being the best value for them with one of their top 2 selections (wherever those end up being). Looking at #s 4-7 in Deadpool's ILB list I would love having any of those guys. Plus it's alsby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not a lot from that list of 9. Yet only one of them was selected in the top 125 overall. Most are late round picks. You can't call any 5th-7th round picks "busts" in my opinion. If we want to argue it's time to put a higher priority on edge rusher drafting, great. I agree and would love to see one taken with one of their top 2 selections. But I don't see the argument about 'missing'by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I think ending up with 5 picks between #s 57-145 and then 3 picks on Day 3 would be ideal.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
That's the stat the Rams are paying Stafford for the most in my opinion. Clearly the turnovers issue was the breaking point with Goff. Over the past 5 years Stafford's INT % is 1.8. Goff's the past two years was 2.5. And there's the fumbles thing- Goff's rate being double Stafford's.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
What do you think of Jones and Weaver?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Ossai could be a great pick at 57 as a guy that can come in and be a sub contributor early on (which the Rams can use) but also have time to develop and become more in years 2, 3 and 4. I wonder if Donald might advocate for one of the Pitt pass rushers as a later round pick...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not because I dismiss the center need at all but just that the value where they would get those first three picks would be outstanding. And personally think they can keep Williams beyond 2021 but still would LOVE Samuel, Jr.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Josh Reynolds went from 11 catches as a rookie to 29 in his 2nd year. I expect a similar jump in Jefferson's numbers (19 to ~45 catches).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's a guy I have looked at and felt would be a great fit in LA.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Just a hunch, really. I could be wrong. I agree they like to draft guys with an eye on looking a year ahead (which is the right view, I think). But with only 6 picks I do think they will lean toward positions where the pick would at least contribute right away. That's why I think somewhere in the front seven on defense plus CB is most likely. I could see them going for an OT like Walker Little frby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't dismiss the idea of a tackle. Think it's pretty doubtful but it is possible.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Accounting for the 14 vs. 16 games thing and the single season rushing record, the top seasons would be: 1. OJ Simpson (1973)- 143.1 yards/game 2. Jim Brown (1963)- 133.1 3. Walter Payton (1977)- 132.3 4. Eric Dickerson (1984)- 131.6 5. OJ Simpson (1975)- 129.8by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
That's my guess too. If they stay at 57 it will be to select a defensive player of real value (top 45 prospect) that has slipped to them. CB, Edge, ILB. If they move back 10+ spots then maybe center is a possibility. Ideal scenario would be getting one of the top 3 centers at 88 or 103.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
2020 Offensive Line Continuity Scores read the article via Football Outsiders Definition: Offensive line continuity scores were originally developed by Jason McKinley in the early days of FO (when FO Almanac was still Pro Football Prospectus) and we have subsequently gone back and calculated it for every team since 1999. The continuity scores are based on three variables: number of starters uby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Besides Bobby Wagner they could have drafted LBs Lavonte David or Mychal Kendricks there. Any of the three would have been great additions. I was sure they were taking one of them....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
...Snead is a little tough to listen to. Don't get me wrong, I like him as their GM. And it was informative overall. Maybe it's a southern thing. But I find he makes really long, winding answers to things that could be more succinct...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Williams dropped two other INTs from Wilson last year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not big on addressing ILB but getting Cox at #57 would be fine by me...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. They had a solid fan base. It was a great Super Bowl location. If the Ram can return to LA then the Chargers can return to SD someday.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that the future LT isn't on the roster. I'm fine with Noteboom as the 3rd OT but that's it. Maybe they feel Edwards could slide over, who knows. But I will say I think I'd rather fill the LT spot in 2022. They don't have a 1st round pick but they will have much more draft ammo (11 picks) to either trade up from wherever they are in the 2nd round (into maybe the top 8 picks of the 2nd?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The point about not needing to use 1st round draft picks on OL is very valid. But it's a pretty big stretch to claim Noteboom and Edwards are their long-term OTs. I like Edwards. Maybe he moves to tackle eventually, maybe not. And Noteboom is an alright 3rd OT. And it's an even BIGGER stretch to claim Allen and Shelton are obvious upgrades over Blythe. Blythe is replaceable. But he was never someby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
A guy I have ended up taking late 4th round several times in online mocks. Seems like he could fit the Rams mold? Good slot receiver, showed up well at the Senior Bowl, has KOR ability. Could learn behind Jackson for a year and round out the Rams' WR corps with Trishton Jackson?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought Whitworth was definitely better in 2020 than 2019. One more quality season from him would be huge. I like Noteboom OK as the backup/3rd OT but agree he's not the long-term guy. I doubt it but wouldn't totally dismiss the idea of a LT even as high as #57 should someone of good value slip to them. Or maybe one of the 3rd rounders. But once Whitworth retires in 2022 they can go a lot oby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
